I hope you all have been doing well and are hanging in there! I’m sure we are all ready for this year to be done and for Covid-19 to be gone already! I know it’s hard to deal with life right now because of all the unknowns regarding this virus but I hope that you can step back, find something positive and be productive in all of this chaos.
For me, the first part of this year (prior to Corona) presented me with a lot of challenges. And although I wish I could say the year had gotten better for me, it financially and physically didn’t. However, somehow I found a way to pull through all of the challenges that were sent my way. How? Well, a bit of hope, positivity and laughter were my tools! I won’t lie though, there were a few times that I almost let fear, pain and the unknown get the best of me. But I am like my grandmother and I’m definitely my father’s daughter with deep roots of stubbornness and pushing through all of life challenges.
As of July I was put back on active duty in my Flight Attendant career but I have yet to work. I’m a bit nervous with the Covid virus and to be honest, my back is not quite ready to take on the physical duties I need to do at my job. I also recently took one of the packages my work was offering to help the company from having to furlough anyone. The package consists of six months extended time off with partial pay. The partial pay pretty much just pays my taxes, benefits and leaves me with a little spare change. So in order to keep my bills paid I got a part-time job taking care of Alzheimer’s clients (a job I had before I was a Flight Attendant); joined the largest online Wellness shopping club (in hopes to work from home and make money, along with being eco-friendly); been working with a ghost-writer trying to get the first draft of my book done; and with all that on my plate, I have recently become a member with Toastmasters International to help refine my public speaking skills. So as you can see my plate is full, I’m a bit overwhelmed but trying to refine my priorities with some good time-management skills. Oh… and let’s not forget keeping up with my blog page and social media sites (phew!).
I know you all probably think I’m crazy but if you ask my mom, she’ll tell you this is the old me and how I roll. So on that note of going from the first half of the year with health issues and a non-existent life and now being a busy bee…. I’m finally back to my old self! And you know what? I wouldn’t have it any other way!
Till next time…
